Anxiety is a common, low-grade form of fear that causes emotional depletion for many people. It can originate from threat-based beliefs that something bad might happen – regardless of any peril posed by the environment. Anxiety can lead to physical problems such as poor sleep or disturbed eating patterns. Or it can make people unnecessarily controlling of themselves and others, which can in turn lead to relational problems.

This four-week course helps you identify personal and cultural beliefs that might be causing unnecessary anxiety or stress. Work in the group sessions and in your time between sessions is tailored to developing skills for emotional security. These include adjusting assumptions; tolerating uncertainty; relaxation; developing friendships; and connecting with your potential.

This course will be facilitated by Senior Psychological Therapist, Ellie Fretwell and will be held on Thursdays 24th September and 1st, 8th 15th October 2020 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Stockport Quaker Meeting House.
