What to expect when you refer to us
Optimised choice, shared knowledge, excellent outcomes
NWCED provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychological and dietetic treatment for eating disorders and associated difficulties. Our service package spans Step One through Step Four in the Mental Health Stepped Care Model. We function as gatekeepers to inpatient care while providing essential restorative care to clients with mild to moderate eating disorders. Our community-based team builds cooperative relationships with local commissioners, Primary Care teams and third sector health and social wellbeing services, optimising choice and care for clients, and sharing knowledge with our external colleagues.
NWCED has a proven track record of delivering high client satisfaction with minimal delay to access treatment. We use a comprehensive range of clinical outcome measures which demonstrate the effectiveness of our services. Our team is comprised of qualified and accredited psychotherapists, psychologists, counsellors and dietician. We also host a number of carefully selected trainee counsellors each year, offering them expert mentorship which in turn produces mental health professionals who are competently skilled in this specialist area of work. We stay abreast of latest developments in eating disorders research and clinical skills, and consistently practice to the highest ethical standards.
We do all this while keeping our prices highly competitive.
For over twelve years, NWCED has been commissioned by Stockport PCT to provide community-based eating disorders treatment services. We welcome invitations to tender new or improved community-based eating disorder services in other areas of Greater Manchester and the North West of England.
