CBT-E is Professor Christopher Fairburn's latest development in evidence-based CBT for eating disorders. This transdiagnostic treatment is detailed in his 2008 book, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eating Disorders (Guilford). At NWCED we find that CBT-E is an effective and efficient way to help people recover from eating disorders. We have devised these study days to provide a forum for therapists from various backgrounds to discuss and practice this highly structured model.
The series of three study days will be facilitated by Caroline Vermes, M.Ed and Deborah Withers, M.Sc. The cost for the series is £180.00, which includes comprehensive notes, handouts, CD recording of the sessions and certificate of attendance for 12 hours of continuing education. The series includes:
♣ Chapter-by-chapter review of Fairburn's
model, including all handouts and
worksheets
♣ Discussion of how to put this model into
practice
♣ Role plays of key interventions including
formulations, promoting behaviour change,
and long-term maintenance planning
Participants are required to attend all three sessions, and to read C.G. Fairburn (2008), Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eating Disorders (Guilford) in its entirety before the series starts.
